Terms

The service

Lettance explains the rules for privately rented homes in England, checks which apply to an address, reads documents you upload, prepares notices and letters from details you give, and keeps a dated record. It is run by Galleon Labs. Contact gm@galleonlabs.io.

Information, not legal advice

We link every rule to its source and research council schemes from council sources, but laws and schemes change and councils make mistakes too. The service gives information, not legal advice, and it does not act for you in court or with a council. Check the linked source before you act, and take legal advice for possession, disputes or anything with serious consequences.

Notices and letters are generated from the details you enter. You are responsible for checking them, signing them and serving them correctly.

Your account

Keep access to your email secure, because sign-in links go there. You must have the right to upload the documents and personal data you add, including your tenants' details.

Do not use the service to harass tenants, to discriminate unlawfully, or to break the law.

Liability

We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude. Otherwise we are not liable for losses caused by relying on the service without checking the source, for council or court decisions, or for indirect losses. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes and ending

We may change these terms; we will tell you by email before material changes take effect. You can close your account at any time. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
